The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) is a non-profit organization working to encourage the development and adoption of energy-efficient products and services. NEEA is supported by the region's electric utilities, public benefits administrators, state governments, public interest groups and efficiency industry representatives.

Minnesota Power, a division of ALLETE, provides electricity in a 26,000-square-mile electric service territory located in northeastern Minnesota. Minnesota Power supplies retail electric service to 137,000 customers and wholesale electric service to 16 municipalities.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States. The company, a subsidiary of PG&E Corporation, serves approximately 15 million people in northern and central California.

The National Grid electricity subsidiary in Massachusetts serves a total of 1.2 million customers in 168 Massachusetts communities.

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is the nation's sixth largest community-owned electric utility in terms of customers served. Hydro-Québec generates, transmits and distributes electricity, mainly using renewable energy sources, in particular hydroelectricity. It also conducts research in energy-related fields and takes an active interest in energy efficiency. In addition, it works to create value from the technologies that emerge from its research.

The Salt River Project Power District, a political subdivision of the state of Arizona; now provides electricity to more than 900,000 retail customers in the Phoenix area. It operates or participates in 11 major power plants and numerous other generating stations, including thermal, nuclear, natural gas and hydroelectric sources.
