The 80 PLUS® program has helped to standardize measurement of desktop and desktop-derived server power supply efficiency and encourage sales of more efficient units into the market. Now, with funding from a group of electric utility and energy efficiency organizations, the program has researched the efficiency of power supplies used in data center and enterprise servers.
